Report by Odisha Diary bureau, New Delhi: World Environment Day (WED) is for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the environment. Over the years it has grown to be a broad, global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated by stakeholders in over 100 countries. It also serves as the ‘people’s day’ for doing something positive for the environment, galvanizing individual actions into a collective power that generates an exponential positive impact on the planet.
On World Environment day the renowned sand artist has created a sand sculpture of World’s five top leaders with a message “Plant trees Save Environment” at Puri beach of Odisha. Pattnaik has created the face of five top leaders, India’s Prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi, USA president Mr. Barack Obama, Germany Chancellor and the president of China with a tree and they are spreading message of “plant trees, Save environment” throughout the World.
Pattnaik has used 5 tons of sand to create this 6 high sand sculpture. I always try to spread social messages through my sand sculpture. So far Padma awardee Sudarsan has participated in more than 50 International sand sculpture championships and festivals around the World and won many prizes for our country.
