It has not been a year since the new Honda Civic was launched; however Honda has decided to refurbish the exterior as well as the interior of this model. Vicki Poponi, assistant vice president of the American Honda product planning said that these improvements “infuse the Civic with a more youthful, premium style.” She also claimed that upgrading the features on the exterior and beneath “will ensure that the Civic maintains its top-ranked status.”
“Youthful and upscale” is what Honda described the appearance of the vehicle. Designed with a much more sculpted front end, the Accord-like Civic is having a deep faceted hood. Besides revamped with a “collection of sharp new wheel designs“, other specifications of the ninth-generation Civic include the new jewel-like taillights, black honeycomb mesh grille, open-mouth lower bumper, lower diffuser panel and a rear bumper redesign. The reflectors are incorporated into the rear bumper and taillights extend to the trunk lid. The lower diffuser panel accommodates a honeycomb mesh vent across the lower portion of the car`s bumper.
According to the Japanese automaker, the 2013 Honda Civic sedan debuting at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show is very “youthful”. The pricing specs and other details about the car will be published on November 29, the date on which the new model will be officially unveiled. The makeover is intended to overcome the comparatively cold response received to the Honda Civic’s original look. New options are included to the wheels along with the cosmetic modifications. The price of the 2012 Honda Civic DX starts from $16,745 along with the $790 destination charge.
